Tasmania Rock Climbing

Being Australia's most mountainous state, Tasmania has plenty of rock for testing the muscles, from easy grade 10 to a 20 plus. Most places in Tasmania offer climbing and abseiling adventure trip companies and there are many experienced guides available. Those who want to test their abilities before tackling the real thing can try out the indoor climbing gyms in Hobart and Launceston. Some of the most popular climbing spots are Mount Wellington's Organ Pipes near Hobart, White Water Wall and the Hazards at Freycinet, the Cataract Gorge in Launceston and Frenchman's Cap in the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage area.
