Queensland Trekking

Australia's remarkable Bicentennial National Trail, the longest marked trekking route of its kind in the world, stretches from Cooktown in tropical North Queensland to Healesville in Victoria, a distance of 3,312 miles (5,330km). It follows historic coach and stock routes, old pack horse trails and country roads, designed as a "living history" experience with historic sites and artefacts en route. The trail traverses spectacular scenery, from rainforests to dry plains and snowfields. Hikers can choose to walk any section. The trail can also be used by mountain bikers and horse-riders.
