Wattay International Airport (VTE)

Location: The airport is two miles (3km) from Vientiane.
Time: GMT +7.

Getting to the city: The best way to the city is by taxi, which costs around $6 or 54,000 kip. Buy a coupon from the official Airport Taxi counter.
Car rental: Two local car rental companies, Asia and BP, are represented at the airport. However visitors are advised not to hire a car, instead, if you need a car, hire a car with a driver through your hotel or travel agent. Taxis can be hired for approximately US$20 per day.
Facilities: Facilities at the airport include banks, bars, restaurants, duty-free, a post office and a couple of shops.
Departure Tax: Departure tax is now included in the price of the air ticket and no longer paid in cash on departure.
