Climate

In general the weather in the Bahamas is wonderful throughout the year. The summers are kept from getting too hot by the constant cooling trade winds. The summer temperature in the Bahamas rarely goes above 90°F (32°C). The climate in winter is mild with lows of around 60°F (16°C). The northern and more western islands (including Grand Bahama Island, Great Abaco, Andros and Eleuthera) are slightly cooler than the southern islands. The hurricane season runs between June and November and rain storms are likely during this period. The busy holiday season is over the summer, from December to April, and hotel and airfares to the Bahamas are more expensive over this period.
